Content

Portfolio
You can now import Outlook calendar files (.ics) into the Portfolio in your ExactTarget account.

Save Email as Template
With 135.2, you can now save your email as a template, complete with its content intact.

  • Jump-start the email creation process by including pre-populated content areas in your templates.
  • Lock down, not only content, but also creative elements, in a content area by content area level.
  • The uses are endless: the "permanent inclusion" of your company overview, sign-up form, or contact information in every email you send. Embed important content into your template and rest assured it will be included in every email.

New Template and Survey UIs
Previously, ExactTarget introduced several functionality changes in limited release. Now, these features, which improve the template and survey creation process, are available for everyone.

  • Surveys have been completely overhauled - you'll see a new grid and you'll have the ability to take several actions from that grid. Reformatted pages for creating questions and customized landing pages also contribute to a more streamlined survey creation process.
  • We've given template creation a new look and feel - one that is consistent with what you are used to seeing in other parts of the application. You'll also notice more flexible tools for template creation, whether you are using our editor or pasting in your HTML.
  • A simplified Create Email page creates a more consistent experience with other items you create in the application. You'll still see the same set of creation methods as before - we have simply modified the page to create a more consistent user experience.

Supported Operators
Dynamic Content now supports contains, exist in, does not contain, and does not exist in.

dynamic content

Previously an iLab feature, with this release, we have added the Impression Tracking for Triggered Sends Report. This report shows impression tracking for dynamic content that is included in triggered emails.

Twitter Integration

The removal of the results from the UpdateTwitterStatusByJob function allows the function to be included inside inline AMPscript code. This prevents possible errors associated with a send including this call in an AMPscript code block.

Subscribers

Prior to this release when using the Web Services API to retrieve a subscriber, all subscriber attributes were not included. Subscriber attributes were truncated from a comma separated list larger than 8,000 characters. This release corrects this issue. Now when you retrieve a subscriber, all subscriber attributes are included.

Imports

As part of the 135.2 release, we streamlined some of the code used by the import activity to improve import performance. These changes do not affect the import wizard.

Tracking & Reports

Forwarding Activity Details
The Forwarding Activity Details report has been enhanced. Now you can use this report to see forwarding details for sends through your integrated Microsoft Dynamics CRM or Salesforce account.

Tracking Data
135.2 provides access to tracking data that was missing previous. Changes include:

  • The Email Overlay tracking view would return an error if you had entered an illegal character in the tracking alias for a link.  The tracking now converts the character so that an error does not appear.
  • The Inbox Activity Over Time report no longer requires that conversion tracking be enabled in your account in order to see data.
  • Tracking events for On Your Behalf edition accounts are again correct associated with the account.

Salesforce

Deduplication
Salesforce integrated accounts may now send to the same email address multiple times in the same send at your request. Contact your ExactTarget representative to obtain this feature.

Tracking Email Results
Tracking for Salesforce initiated sends now allows the option to View History or View Properties when clicking open or click through data. Go here for more Salesforce tracking information.

Live Image

URL Fields
Previously, the URL fields for the A and B images in a Live Image instance allowed a maximum of 200 characters. Now, you can use as many as 500 characters to define your URL. This expands the possibilities of using image URLs in Live Image.

Click and Impression Data
Previously, Live Image recorded only click and impression data for live email sends. Live Image now records that information for all test sends as well, giving you a fuller picture regarding the effectiveness of the Live Image in your email send.

Activities and Data Extensions
Live Image stores information regarding the images’ attributes in an activities data extension. The information in this data extension can be used to review the effectiveness and activities regarding a Live Image.

Partner data management

Previously, some reseller and embedded partners were experiencing a problem when deactivating and then reactivating child accounts. With the 135.2 release, you can reactivate accounts for up to seven days after they are deactivated. After seven days, you must contact ExactTarget in order to reactivate the account. Accounts are permanently deleted 90 days after they have been made inactive.)

API support

Global
With this release, we have improved Web Service API support for date/time formats and locale values.

Suppression List
API support is available for adding subscribers to a Suppression List

Decimal Data Support
Previously, the API did not support the use of the decimal data type during retrieve calls. Instead, that information would arrive in the text data type. You can now retrieve information from data extensions that use the decimal data type and preserve that data type. You can also use the API to create decimal data type fields.

DateTimeLocale with Imports
Previously, the API did not allow you to specify a value for the DateTimeLocale property on the ImportDefinition object. You can now specify such a value during a call, allowing you to specify the appropriate date/time format to use in conjunction with the ImportDefinition call based on the locale associated with the send.
